Okay, so as I've prepared for the birth of my first child, a few of my friends turned me on to the amazing world of church consignment sales. I had already learned about the benefits of kids consignment stores, but these other sales are a most know.

Cure for Hiccups?
A very good friend recently told me that having a baby suck sugar off your finger is a sure way to help them get rid of their hiccups! She stated she used it with all of her babies and it worked fantastically. I've tried it a few times and it seems to work 9 times out of 10.
Colicky Baby?
My mother swears by this method! Apparently a lot of babies get colic and it can take at least 3 days to cure before the baby stops crying. Her doctor told her with us (this was in the 70's!) to put bricks under the crib on one side so we'd sleep at an angle. She said she just started doing this with all three of us because it helped cure it. I've also heard it helps reflux for infants too so they aren't sleeping flat on their backs. My son is 11 weeks old and we've used this for him to sleep exclusively. No colic or reflux yet!Now, things have come along way and we purchased this fun Bassinet that is made for babies sleeping at an angle. It's the Fisher Price Rock'n Play Sleeper. $50.99 at Target.
Rice Cereal for Reflux
One reader recently let us know that mixing a small amount of rice cereal in with milk in a babies bottle will help cut down on reflux. She stated that the cereal helps keep the milk down and helps the baby digest it better. Thank you Mary Anne for the tip!
Inexpensive Birthday Party Ideas
It seems more and more parents are spending a lot of money on kids birthday parties these days. My mom recently sent me an idea that would work for both boys and girls that is relatively inexpensive.
Shop at your local mass merchant or hardware store and pick up several very large packing boxes, duct tape, pens, markers, and spray paint if the party is going to have parental guidance. Help with Breast Feeding
